How Can I Get Involved?
Youth Ministry needs to change and adapt in order to be effective…that’s all there is to it. We’ve listened to our students; we’ve looked at all the research; and we think we have a new, fresh approach that will minister holistically to students while allowing them to take more ownership in the process of their spiritual growth.
Attend The Fusion Learning Group
- Two of the best things we can provide on Sunday’s is a place where high school students can connect and to help them think about life and faith in a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere.
- This is the central hub of our ministry where friends can connect and new students can get involved.
- Sundays at 10:15 AM in the SM Room
Attend Main Service
- We’ve found that students enjoy Newsong’s main service and it’s no surprise why! Our main services are geared for the college/young-adult crowd and our high school students are too far away!
- Stats show that students who are involved in the overall church body and inter-generational worship, do a far better job at internalizing their faith once they hit college.
- Sundays at 9:00, 10:30, or 11:49
Serve at Newsong
- Serving is a huge part of spiritual maturity and we believe that students have a ton to offer to the church. We want to raise a generation of students that creatively use their gifts and talents for the kingdom.
Here are several areas of need that we would love to see students serve in:
- Evolve - We’d love to see students serving as apprentice small group leaders, tech volunteers, worship team members, or anything else they are passionate about. To learn more about serving in Evolve e-mail Daniel Roach
- Noah’s Place - We already have a number of students serving in Noah’s Place and we think that is a great thing! To learn more about serving Newsong’s children e-mail April Diaz
- Frontline -Volunteers are needed for all services as greeters/ushers, parking attendants, or hospitality/clean-up. There is a variety of serving times available such as serving every other week or serving in between services. To learn more about serving with Frontline e-mail Scott Rinehart
Join a Small Group
- Students need a place to develop deep relationships and push each other forward in their spiritual development. In the past to make being a part of Fusion “easy” for busy high school students, we’ve packaged everyting from teaching, group interactions and small groups together in an hour and fifteen minute service. As a result, we haven’t done any of these major components well because of lack of time. Separating small groups from our Sunday morning service will give our small groups the appropriate time to make these groups great.
- All small groups will meet in homes outside of Sunday mornings.
- Students will be allowed to choose their own small groups and small group leaders. Although they will still be gender specific, students can choose a group that they will be able to connect well with.
- These groups will be closed. We will not add students to these groups, but they can choose to invite friends and add students to their groups.
Be a Part of Monthly All-Fusion Gatherings
- There is still a huge need to get the entire Fusion ministry together from time to time and we plan to do that at least once a month. It may be a worship night, a retreat, an outreach event, or anything else our students dream up.
- Check the upper right hand corner of the page or the SM Calendar for a list of upcoming events.
